đŸŒ±Lock In...Find Your Purpose Work🍃

LOCK IN...FIND YOUR PURPOSE WORK!

Ever felt like there was something more you were supposed to be doing—but you just couldn’t quite put your finger on it? Like there was more to who you were meant to be, more to what you were meant to practice
 maybe even your ministry?

After seven long, grueling years in grad school, I finally defended my dissertation in Mathematics Education. I had landed my dream job as a college mathematics professor. This was what I had trained for, prayed for. I had made it.

I felt proud. Accomplished. I had done the thing! I loved helping my students see math differently, loved watching them have those lightbulb moments when it all just clicked.

But something else was happening.

There was this stirring deep inside me, a nudge I couldn’t quite name, couldn’t quite shake, but I knew it was there.

See, while I was in grad school, stress was running me ragged, and it started showing up in my body. My health took a hit. I knew I needed to make some changes, but I had no clue where to start.

Then, when I started teaching, for a while, it felt good. But as the years passed, this question kept creeping into my mind:

"Is this it?"

Like
is this what I worked so hard for? Am I just gonna teach math, sit on a bunch of committees, and then retire after a few decades? Was this the full picture of my purpose?

I knew I was making an impact in my students’ lives. But that whisper inside me kept nudging
and nudging. I was meant for something more.

Then, one summer, I took a wellness training that flipped the script on how I saw my health. That’s when the spark really ignited. I realized I wanted to help people—not just with numbers, but with how they felt in their bodies, how they nourished themselves, how they took care of their whole being.

And that work? That work grew into something way bigger than just food.

At the core of it all, I’ve always been about transformation. Back then, it was about helping students shift how they saw themselves in math. But when I stepped into wellness work, it became about helping people elevate their health, mindset, and well-being.

Find Your Work.

Lock in.

Maybe you’ve spent years gathering skills and experiences that feel all over the place—like a puzzle you can’t quite put together. But trust me, all those pieces add up. They fuel whatever’s next for you.

Just do the work. Learn what you need to learn right now. It’s all leading somewhere bigger than you can see. It’s all part of your purpose.

You already have everything you need for your next breakthrough. So don’t second-guess it.

Who would’ve thought that a Brooklyn girl—who just happened to be a math professor—living in Atlanta, would become a plant-based chef and wellness coach? I sure didn’t.

But now? I see it clearly. My purpose has always been in the work of transformation. Teaching. Connecting. Serving.

So, in December 2022, I did something wild. I walked away from my good, steady state job. I took a chance—on myself, on this work, on the impact I knew I was meant to make.

What About You? Are You Purpose-Aligned?

If you’re feeling stuck, unsure, or just know there’s something more for you, here are three things that might help:

Self-Reflection & Exploration
Take time to think about what truly lights you up. What excites you? What gives you energy? Journaling, meditation, or working with a coach can help you get clear on what’s next.

Define Your Mission Statement
What’s your "why"? Write down what you value, what you want to create in this world, and what impact you want to make. Use it to check if your work is lining up with your purpose.

Explore Purpose-Driven Opportunities
Start looking into organizations, businesses, and communities that match your values. Connect with people doing the work that excites you. Sometimes, just putting yourself in the right rooms can open doors you never saw coming.

At the end of the day, you gotta feel good about how you’re showing up in the world. Because that’s when we make our most meaningful impact.

So tell me—what’s calling you? What’s that whisper you can’t ignore?

Hit reply and let me know. You know I read every message.

BEEE WELL WEEKLY TIP:

Breathe Easier: How Essential Oils Can Help with Allergies & Pollen

Seasonal allergies can be a nightmare—sneezing, itchy eyes, and that constant stuffy nose can make even the sunniest day feel miserable. Instead of relying solely on over-the-counter medications, why not try a natural approach? Essential oils can help soothe allergy symptoms and support clearer breathing.

Essential Oils to Try for Allergy Relief:

  • Peppermint oil – Acts as a natural decongestant and can help open up your airways. Try diffusing it or adding a drop to a bowl of hot water and inhaling the steam.
  • Lavender oil – Known for its calming effects, lavender also has anti-inflammatory properties that may reduce allergy-related irritation. Dab a little on your temples or wrists for relief.
  • Eucalyptus oil – A powerhouse for clearing congestion! Add a few drops to your shower or mix it with a carrier oil and rub it on your chest.
  • Lemon oil – Helps break down mucus and boost your immune system. Try adding a drop to a glass of water (make sure it's food-grade) or diffusing it to freshen up your space.

Ways to Use Essential Oils for Allergies:

  • Diffuse them – Fill your home with soothing scents that help clear your sinuses.
  • Steam inhalation – Add a few drops to hot water, cover your head with a towel, and breathe deeply.
  • DIY allergy rub – Mix a few drops of peppermint, eucalyptus, and lavender with coconut oil and massage onto your chest or the bottoms of your feet.

Questions to Consider:

  • Have you tried essential oils for allergy relief before?
  • Which scents do you find most soothing when dealing with congestion?
  • What natural remedies work best for you during allergy season?

Give these oils a try and breathe a little easier this allergy season! 🌿✹

TEACH THEM TO FISH How do you empower your children as you take your family on a journey to better eating and living? One of my clients recently called me, feeling a bit frustrated. She couldn’t figure out what to feed her picky son. He was stuck in his ways, only eating a handful of familiar foods like chicken nuggets and potato bites. She loved our meal prep options but, when doing the math, creating a separate meal plan for her toddler didn’t quite seem practical, especially when trying to...

YOUR LINEAGE MAY BE A MIRROR OF WHAT YOUR FUTURE HOLDS I had a heart-to-heart conversation with a dear friend recently. She was visibly anxious, her voice tinged with concern, as she spoke about her family’s medical history. Diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer
these weren’t just words to her—they were real, lived experiences woven into the fabric of her family’s story. And as I sat there listening to her, it made me pause and reflect. Do we really stop to ask the right questions about our...

BEING PLANT-BASED...YOU'RE CLOSER THAN YOU THINK When I first began my work as a lifestyle medicine health coach and chef, I was very intentional about not using the word vegan in my marketing—even though I’m often pigeonholed into that category. Back then, and honestly even now, vegan felt like a heavy word. It sounded like sacrifice
like a red pen slashing through all the foods people love. And that just didn’t sit right with me. Because the work of a health coach? It’s not about snatching...
